Stainless vintage Rolex Oyster 6436
$1,975.00
Here we have a 6436 Rolex Oyster, mechanical, manual wind. Stainless 33mm case.
This is a very nice original survivor at 69 years old! Dial is nice and original, case has a few nicks in it and the hands could use a polish but all in all a very nice original. Serial number is in the upper 800,000 range placing it at either 1953 or 1963 (as they restarted serial numbers at one point) but the original owner whom I purchased it from years ago told me he got it as a graduation present in 1955 so I guess thatd put it at 1953 production then.
It’s a nice piece, I wear it a couple times a month…its nice and understated…33mm is a bit small by today’s standards but not for a watch of that era in fact thats on the large size for mid century pieces.
Manual wind…could use a cleaning as it runs a little bit slow but not enough to worry about for occasional usage.
Acrylic crystal could stand to be replaced…there is a slight double ding slightly inboard of 5:30 (as circled in oictures) as you see in other pictures its not visible so its not always visible but I need to point it out.
Great vintage piece!
