The result of over five decades of working and improving the high-beat El Primero chronograph movement, the Chronomaster Sport line is equipped with the newest version of the legendary caliber, the El Primero 3600. With its 5 Hz (36’000 VpH) frequency, the new movement is able to precisely track elapsed time up to 1/10th of a second with the central seconds hand (which does a full rotation of the dial every 10 seconds when engaged), all in a highly legible and digestible manner that’s displayed directly on the black ceramic bezel as well as the dial. It also features an enhanced power reserve of 60 hours, in addition to hacking seconds. And visible through the sapphire display back, the updated El Primero movement architecture is immediately perceptible, revealing a blue column wheel and openworked rotor decorated with Zenith’s trademark five-pointed star.

That’s not all. Other notable aesthetic features on the new Chronomaster Sport series include highly legible tri-color sub-dials (running seconds, chronograph seconds, 60 minutes), a three-link stainless steel bracelet with polished center links and deployant clasp, a color-matched date aperture, and a bold, attractive black ceramic bezel. Crafted in a sleek and robust stainless steel case measuring 41mm × 13.6mm with pump-style pushers, the new bezel design with 1/10 of a second graduations sets the Chronomaster Sport apart from its predecessors.

The original El Primero caliber debuted in 1969, and in 1994, Zenith debuted the Chronomaster series as its new flagship chronograph collection. Over 25 years later, Zenith evolves the Chronomaster series once again with a refined expression of the El Primero identity
