Dr. Drew Moore (Edward Andrew) is a Texas native, born in 1962. He was raised in Dallas, and lived there, until going into the US Army. Dr Moore and his wife have three adult children. Dr. Moore graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1989. He was commissioned as a CPT in the Dental Corps, in 1991. After Officer Basic Course at Fort Sam, in San Antonio, TX, he and his wife, Jane moved to Ludwigsburg, Germany, a suburb of Stuttgart. CPT Moore served with the 90th Medical Detachment (Dental Service) until the Summer of 92, when they transferred into the Heidelberg DENTAC. CPT Moore was among the first officers to be chosen to serve in the 89th Medical Detachment (Dental Services) as the all MTO&E 30th Medical Brigade stood up. After Officer Advanced, The Moores moved to Schofield Barracks on Oahu, HI, where CPT Moore became the last 63A to serve as the Divisional Dental Surgeon as part of the 725th MSB of the 25th Infantry Division (Light). He served in this position for a year and then spent the next 2 years as part of the Hawaii DENTAC. He was promoted to Major in 1997. MAJ Moore also served in the KMAP, or Korean Medical Augmentation Program, which would support Noncombatant Evacuation Operations if war became active in Korea.
The Moores moved to Oklahoma City in the Summer of 1999, so MAJ Moore could begin his residency in Periodontics and Implantology. After graduating with honors, in 2002, MAJ Moore was chosen to be the Vice President of the resident class at Command & General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. In the Summer of 2003, he and the family moved from Kansas to The United States Military Academy, at West Point, NY, where MAJ Moore was promoted to LTC and became the Chief of Periodontics.
In 2005, the Moores left active duty and moved to Houston, TX, where Dr. Moore would enter private practice. LTC Moore transitioned directly into the TX ARNG.
In November of 2006, LTC Moore became the commander of the 111th Area Support Medical Battalion. With the support of outstanding staff officers, NCOs and Soldiers, the 111th ASMB was Transformed into the Multifunctional Medical Battalion. The members of the 111th began the task of preparing for deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in the Fall of 2008, went to final predeployment training at Fort Lewis, Washington. The 111th moved into Kuwait in December of 2008 and then into Iraq in early 2009, as TF 111th MMB.
After a fruitful deployment, the Task Force redeployed to Fort Lewis and back to San Antonio. LTC Moore was promoted to COL in October of 2009.
COL Moore left command and returned to serve in Texas Medical Command. Form 2013 until 2019 COL Moore served as the State Dental Surgeon. He finished his service with Med Det 1 at Grand Prairie.
In 2011 the Moores moved to the Dallas area where he opened a private practice.
